Test for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea Oral Urine 2-Site

Oral & Urine Sample STD Collection

Test for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea in the Throat and Genitals

Chlamydia and gonorrhea can infect multiple areas of the body, including the throat and genitals. This 2-site test is designed to detect infections from oral and genital exposure using clinically validated throat and urine STD test samples.

By testing both locations, you reduce the risk of missed infections that may not show symptoms.

Important: What This 2-in-1 Oral and Urine Test Does NOT Detect

This 2-site at-home STD test is designed specifically to detect oral and genital infections only.

    • It does not detect anal (rectal) infections

If you need full-body screening, consider our 3 site extragenital testing, a multi-site test that includes oral and anal swabs along with a urine sample.

When to Get Tested for Genital and Oral STDs

You can test as soon as 5–7 days after potential exposure to genital and oral STDs. For the most accurate results, it’s best to wait at least two weeks before taking urine and swab tests for STI detection.

Testing too early may not detect the infection. If you are experiencing symptoms, testing as soon as possible is recommended.

Who Should Take a 2-in-1 Chlamydia & Gonorrhea Test (Oral & Urine):

    • Rule out genital and throat chlamydia and gonorrhea exposure

    • Routine screening for sexually active individuals
    • Engage in unprotected oral and genital sex
    • Start a new sexual relationship
    • Received notification from a previous partner of possible gonorrhea or chlamydia infection
    • Confirm you cleared a recent gonorrhea or chlamydia infection (genital or oral)

    • We recommend testing no sooner than two weeks after your completed antibiotic regimen.
    • For the most accurate negative results, the CDC recommends testing at 3 months to confirm you cleared the infection and were not reinfected.1
    • You have genital and oral STD symptoms

    • Pubic/Reproductive
    • Pelvic pain
    • Pain or burning during urination
    • Bumps, lumps, or sores around the genitals
    • Discharge from the vagina or penis
    • Itching or irritation on the genitals
    • Pain during sex
    • Painful erections
    • Rash on the genitals
    • Vaginal odor
    • Mouth/Throat
    • Sores or ulcers in the mouth, throat, or tongue
    • Sore throat
    • Difficulty swallowing
    • Swollen tonsils or lymph nodes
    • White patches or spots on the tongue or gums
    • Lesions similar to cold sores and fever blisters around the mouth
    • Some people with oral STDs may have no symptoms but can still spread an infection to others

STDs can be transmitted to the mouth or throat during oral sex with a partner who has a genital or rectal infection. Likewise, receiving oral sex from a partner with a mouth or throat infection can lead to a genital STD. It’s also possible to have infections in multiple areas at the same time, such as both the throat and genitals.

    • You are a parent of a sexually active child

    • If your child engages in oral sex or intercourse, it’s a good idea to consider a 2-site oral and urine test for STIs.

Understanding Your Genital and Oral STD Test Results

Your test will clearly indicate whether chlamydia or gonorrhea DNA was detected in your urine and oral STD test samples. Once we receive your chlamydia and gonorrhea testing specimens, we’ll discreetly send your physician-reviewed results in approximately 2-5 business days. The 4U Health oral and urine STD test report is both accurate and easy to read.

Negative Urine Result: No genital infection detected at the time of testing.

Negative Throat Swab Result: No oral infection detected at the time of testing.

Positive Urine Result: Genital infection detected.

Positive Throat Swab Result: Oral infection detected.

Follow-up care and treatment are recommended for positive results. Share your CLIA-certified medical-grade results with a healthcare provider to help guide appropriate treatment.

For the most accurate STD test results, follow these guidelines:

    • If you have symptoms, get tested as soon as possible.
    • If you do not have symptoms, wait at least 2 weeks before taking a throat swab or urine STD test.

Is this an at home rapid STD test kit?

Is this an at home rapid STD test kit?

No, this is not a medical device intended for rapid STD testing or at home STD test instant results. Instead, 4U Health offers access to professional, CLIA-regulated STD testing services similar to what’s used in traditional clinics and hospitals. This STD at home test process includes online registration, physician oversight, and simple urine and throat swab sample collection. Once mailed to the lab, your samples will undergo professional STD testing. To ensure the most accurate negative result and rule out early, undetectable infection, consider retesting at 3 months to confirm your status.

Is this 2-in-1 STD at home test FDA approved?

Is this 2-in-1 STD at home test FDA approved?

4U Health does not sell FDA-approved medical devices. We offer U.S. residents (excluding New York) access to medical professional services at their discretion. Our platform connects you with a licensed medical provider who oversees the provision of CLIA-certified, Lab-Developed STD testing. Services are provided with a physician’s order, and your professional lab test is processed alongside those from clinics, health departments, and other healthcare facilities, all governed by CLIA regulations to ensure test accuracy and ongoing proficiency.

    Professional Lab-Developed Services

This at-home STD testing service includes Lab-Developed Tests (LDTs). An LDT is a diagnostic test designed, manufactured, and performed within a single laboratory, is classified as a professional service, and is regulated under CLIA standards. Since the professional services provided under an LDT are regulated by New York State’s Wadsworth Center, and the lab performing this test does not hold a New York State Lab License, this STD testing service is not approved for collection in New York State. It is, however, approved for collection in the remaining 49 U.S. states.

LDTs are professional services performed by professional clinicians in a laboratory, and are not subject to the same pre-market approval by the FDA as commercial tests, but they must meet the quality standards set by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA). LDTs are often used for specialized testing ordered by medical professionals when limited or no commercially available options exist, and the laboratory is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and clinical validity of the test. LDTs play a vital role in expanding access to medically necessary testing throughout the United States, as demonstrated by at home STD screening.

Not an Over-the-Counter Lab Test Kit

4U Health at-home STD testing is valid only with a physician’s order. This is not an unsupervised, over-the-counter FDA-approved kit. Our services are provided under medical license and in compliance with the general supervision guidelines for physicians. This means our physician consultants order your test and oversee the entire testing process. We provide validated collection materials regulated under the Lab-Developed Test (LDT) guidelines of CLIA, and you can connect with your ordering physician or one of their designees for assistance with sample collection. The sample is then mailed to a CLIA-certified laboratory for analysis. As part of the LDT validation process, sample stability studies ensure accurate processing after shipment. Should your sample fail quality control at the lab, we will provide you with complimentary recollection materials to submit a new sample. Upon arrival, licensed clinicians at the laboratory perform professional services on your sample and issue a CLIA-certified final report to both you and your consulting physician facilitated by 4U Health. You can trust the accuracy of your results, as the laboratory undergoes routine proficiency testing to maintain consistent performance in accordance with mandated regulations. Please note: Because this service includes professional medical services and a CLIA-certified test report, a positive STD result may need to be reported to your state’s public health authority, depending on your state’s reporting regulations.

This professional STD testing service includes a physician’s order and oversight, along with the performance of Lab-Developed Tests (LDTs) regulated by CLIA, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any disease on its own. Positive results require confirmation and diagnosis by a licensed medical provider not affiliated with 4U Health. The physician services and LDTs described herein have not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
