This semiquantitative serology (antibody) test provides a numeric antibody level, which indicates whether you have detectable circulating antibodies to COVID-19 in your blood. And now for the science: the COVID-19 Antibody Test With Antibody Score detects IgG antibodies to the S1 spike protein domain of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Spike protein IgG antibodies are produced by a protective immune response to a previous COVID-19 infection or vaccine.

This COVID antibody test detects spike antibodies that are produced from both prior COVID infections and COVID vaccines. Therefore, vaccinated individuals cannot use this test to check for naturally occurring antibodies as a result of a prior COVID infection.
